I have an old toshiba laptop running windows 98. I have had problems with this computer in the past. Six months ago I had a total system crash. I ended up reloading windows and then fighting some virus'. In the past I have had proplems with IE 6.1. Everytime I load it, it seems to cause problems. All of the sudden I cannot get a browser to start. I have IE6.1 and Firefox on my machine. Any time I try to run them the start and then just die. When I go into the task list I can see the browser started but when I click on it, it tells me that the program is not responding. I have wiped out IE; reloaded firefox and reloaded windows a number of times but nothing seems to help. I don't know if this is a Windows 98 issue, spyware issue or browser issue, so I'm starting in this forum
