IE Screwed Up My SBCYahoo!? PLEASE HELP!!

How Do I Get Rid of IE!?
I am desperately needing to completely remove Internet Explorer. This is my parents' computer, so its a little older, runs on Windows '98. They use SBC Yahoo, so I'm pretty sure uninstalling the Internet Explorer wouldn't hurt anything. The two times the program has been opened it has immediately acquired the dreaded about:blank virus (currently in the process of removing, its a little more complicated the second go round.) If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated!

I understand that getting rid of Internet Explorer will not prevent the about virus, but I would still like to remove IE. Thanks!

Here is a link to a Free Script called IE Eradicator that will do what you want

I recently used IEradicator to remove Internet Explorer, but since then I receive an error message at every startup saying something about missing SHFOLDER.DLL. I've never had problems downloading .dll files in the past, but I can't seem to locate this one anywhere on the web. Please help!

The link you provided worked, but the link I'm supposed to click on that page does not work. I receive an error message. I think it may have something to do with the java, but when I try to access the advanced settings to enable java, the window is blank. Any ideas??

Long story, in one day: We never use Internet Explorer, we have SBC Yahoo. Everytime IE has been accidently opened we've acquired some sort of virus immediately. So while trying to get rid of the virus (supposedly about:blank, but starting to look different) I decided to free up some time and space and delete IE. I posted here and used the link to IEradicator, but since then have had problems with my SBC broswer! Here's a few:
Links within a page do nothing when clicked, java will not work, advanced internet settings cannot be accessed (a blank window opens), program randomly closes, and various other odd things happen.
I don't know if this is a result of the unbeatable spyware/virus (which I am still receiving messages about from my computer! Spybot does nothing, Adaware will not work) or the uninstalling of IE. Should I reload IE? If so, from where? What should I do to get rid of the virus? (I've posted my HijackThis log, no responses) PLEASE HELP!!
