Hi all, I have to be quick before I loose the connection.
Do you know why my internet connection keeps disconecting?
Please help. Sometimes it just closes, sometimes it goes to working offline. I don't loose anything else, just the connection,(the little tv's in the bottom right corner disapesr).
I don't no what other information I can give you. Don't be shy to ask. - Gary.

PS, I was disconected twice doing this.

What type of connection? Dial-up? Cable? DSL?

Are you on a network? If so: how configured?

    What Operating System?

Did this just start happening? Were things OK previously? Any changes: (hardware/software)?

Hi, jephree, I have a standalone P.C with BT broadband with the BT Voyager 105 USB ADSL modem. O.S Windows XP pro.

No changes had been made. I was just replying to a forum, and when I pressed the submit button the BT connect window appeared. This was Friday.

Saterday was the same, It didn't matter where I was on the net. I tried rebooting, but that didn't make any difference.

Sunday, all was fine. I thought there must have been a glitch and it fixed itself, OH NO, Today,(Monday), still having problems, but saying that, since reporting this problem I turned off PC for a while, and since i've been back on, it seems O.K

I hope this is of some help. - Gary.

Hello, I'm back. It's Tuesday, and the problem persists. I still haven't changed anything, Oh, and I have done a virus and adware check.
I would realy appreciate some help. This is getting right up my nose now. Thamks. - Gary

Sounds a similar problem to one that I have been having (see my post today).

Do you have a McAfee firewall?

It seems from posts I have read that diabling this firewall can help - but this of course can lead to other problems!

Also is your DSL light on the Voyager green and sometimes turning off?

Have you checked there isn't a problem with BT?

every time we phone them they check theline and say there is no problem - personally I am skeptical about their ability to find any problems any where on there network!

Sorry for the delay, there has been so much going on lately.

The problem heard that you lot where after it and has scampered off somewhere else.

    Everything is just fine now.

Thank you all very much for your help and advice.
