i currently have a dell dimension 4700 that my dad bought in september 2004. it has a 160 gb hard drive, 512 mb ram, 3.0 gHz pentium 4 processor w/ ht. my internet is telus adsl broadband (i think), and it generally runs at 3-4 mbps. i use the filesharing application "bearshare" quite often, and download movies quite often. because of the gigantic file sizes, i decided to deregulate modem usage, which lets bearshare use all of my bandwidth. after about 2 days of frustratingly slow surfing, i turned modem regulation back off, but my internet did not recover. what happened? ive cleaned out my temp internet files folder, run 3 virus scans, all on different programs (mcaffee, norton internet security 2004, and avg free) then i ran 2 spyware scans (ad-aware and spybouncer) and cleaned out a bunch of crap, but now, my internet is slower than ever!! im currently running at 320 kbps!!!! obviously a drop from 3-4 mpbs to 320 kbps is something thats a major problem!!

AHHHHH IM DOWN TO 150 KBPS!!! it took me about 8 minutes just to load the 3 pages it took to get here!!! IM IN SERIOUS TROUBLE!!!
