Can Someone help me with a WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm problem

Hello I'm having a problem. I can connect to the internet and go to any website I want to except www.aftermathzone.com. When I try and go there I get : The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

and it says to detect network settings which I click on and it doesn't do any good. I know the site I am trying to access is working because I have friends that can access it with no problems. I have tryed to access that site with all 3 computers in my home and cant. I use to have no problem accessing it.

When I got that page cannot be displayed I checked the properties of it and it says the following: res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm#http://www.aftermathzone.com/

I can access half the site by going to www.planetamz.com but any parts of the site that involve aftermathzone.com links will not work. And another part of the site that I have been able to use now gives me the following message: Please note that if you have a firewall that blocks websites from finding out your last page, or high security settings that do that, then character sales will not work for you, this is a security feature, sorry. I do not have a firewall installed and my settings are set to the lowest they can go.

Can someone please explain what the problem might be?

Did you make any changes @ june 1?

You have no firewall? (btw: you should!)

IE options set to default? Tools | Internet Options | Advanced | Default

What happens when you click these links:

    1.

    2.

I made no changes to my computer at all. The site was working fine on the evening of May 31st and then when I tryed to access it on June 1st I couldn't. My friends could but not me.

Yes I know I should have a firewall, but I dont.

I had my security options on custom allowing almost everything. But I just set them to default and it did no good.

1st link takes me to the planetamz login page.

    2nd link gets me
    The page cannot be displayed

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
    click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

Do these 2 links behave the same way?
BTW: They take me to the same page.

    http://www.planetamz.com/

    http://www.aftermathzone.com/

Perhaps try a System Restore prior to June 1.
Click the left hand arrow < on the calendar to go back to May 31.

    Start|Programs|Accessories|System Tools|System Restore

no they dont behave the same way for me

For some reason I had no restore points available for May at all. I restored it to April 21st and that did not help.

    I screenshot each link.

heres what I see with the planetamz.com link : http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17.../planetamz.gif

heres what I see with the aftermathzone.com link : http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...ermathzone.gif

Well maybe someone else will have an idea.

I can only speculate at this point:

    The only difference in the two screenshots is the DNS error says pop-ups allowed;
Whereas the other has 3048 Blocked in the same space.

Are you logged in when you are trying to connect?
If so try it logged off.

Try erasing all your cookies & history:

Tools | Internet Options | General | Delete Cookies; Delete Files; Delete History

All I can suggest is trial & error from what I see.

Any chance your login was blocked by the site for some reason?

Have you tried accessing the site from another computer & asking in the chat area for similar problems?

I tried accessing it logged in and logged off, doesn't help to access the aftermathzone.com address. I have tried accessing that address using 3 different computers in my home, all of them get the same dnserror.

I have deleted my cookies and files and cleared history dozens of times and it didn't help.

I have done absolutley nothing wrong on that site so I dont think my login would have been blocked. and my friend can login to my account on there with no problem. And I can login to my account on there but only if I use the planetamz.com address instead of the aftermathzone.com address but any part of the site that is linked to the aftermathzone address wont work for me.

I asked in chats and no one else is having a problem with the aftermathzone address.

I went to roadrunner.com which is my ISP and found the following:

Unable to Connect to a Specific Web Site

If you are unable connect to a particular web site, this may be the result of the host server being down (either for preventive maintenance or due to an unexpected problem), a connection issue with the host, a denial of service attack, and others. Try to connect to the web site again later.

If connection problems with the same web site persists, contact the webmaster or administrator of that site.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
Well hopefully someone will be along shortly with a brilliant idea.

I had overlooked the statement: "I have tried accessing that address using 3 different computers in my home, all of them get the same dns error."

Maybe that will give someone else an idea. Obviously not a single computer & its' settings.

Perhaps you might want to give a brief description of your network?
