Re: Can Someone help me with a WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm problem
3 computers using a linksys router to access the internet. Network never set up for them. they are just all 3 plugged into the router which is plugged into the cable modem. ISP=Roadrunner.
Being as the networking has never been set up in the 2 years I have owned the router and I have been able to access the website until the date of 6/01/05 I dont think that it has anything to do with the problem.
A friend recommended I install Mozilla he said my problem was with I.E. So I installed it and its message when I try and access www.aftermathzone.com is www.aftermathzone.com could not be found please check the name and try it again.
Well that didn't help at all
now I have another unwanted program.

If you have 3 computers displaying the same behavior thru a single connection I do not think it has anything to do with any individual settings on the computers.
Just to mention: Firefox is easily removed. Either via Add/ Remove programs or I think it has an uninstaller if you open the program in all programs.
Again hopefully someone else will have an idea. I am continuing to think about it.

It sounds to me like it's something to do with the router. Have you tried turning it off for a few minutes? I had a similar problem a few months ago, for some reason my router had lost its settings, my Internet Service Provider talked me through resetting it.

Hi Jaynee.
I unplugged the modem and the router for 25 minutes this morning and it didn't help. I still cant access that 1 website. I would call my ISP but I have and dont laugh Telephoneaphobia, and cant make phone calls.
Anyone else know what the problem could be?

It could be that the site has blocked your ISP, not necessarily yours specifically but those in a similar range. Have you tried emailing them?
BTW I have telephoneaphobia as well and it's no laughing matter. Major panic stations if the thing rings.

I've been having trouble surfing to many different sites for a long time now, getting the shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm message. I might have found the solution, based on corrupted DNS. Haven't had that problem for a few days now. Try ipconfig/flushdns at command prompt.

Oh I would try that but it wouldn't matter for that site, because its been hacked and is gone now. Thanks everyone for your help, and if I ever have anymore problems I'll be back.
