When i type in a website in the address bar, i press go and it won't search for the website why is this. can any one help.

can your PC search from a search engine...?

yes it can, it does not make sense

does the PC do anything at all ?

when you get to a webpage have you tried copying and pasting the website address in the address bar ?

If you are running XP then:

After backing up your registry:
START/RUN/ regedit
File
Export...
