Newbie
IE stops responding after 5 minutes When I start my computer, I can access IE fine. After 5 minutes or so of surfing, IE stops responding. Then I have to reboot again and it will respond for 5 minutes or so again. This goes on and on. I can always send and receive e-mail, so my broadband provider says I have a software issue, not a broadband service issue.

Is everything else working ok?
Did this just start happening?
Also: look in your Event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Or: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/ eventvwr
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a failure.

I am not familiar with ME as an OS. But that being said I have found this:
What AV are you running? Also alot of those IPF's point to Google Toolbar.your faultlog is littered with Invalid Page Faults.. not sure what you know about these but basically they arise from memory management problems due to either...
1. damaged/corrupt comp memory (very rare and a last resort)
2. virtual memory (VM) becoming unstable/corrupt due to shortage of physical memory(RAM)
3. VM becoming unstable/corrupt due to shortage of free disk space (as this is accessed by VM) I won't bore you with VM but while we're on it just check you VM settings to make sure that your letting Windows manage it.
4. incompatibile/problem software... this is the most common cause of an IPF
How much RAM do you have & what are your readings in the Task Manager as far as Physical & Kernal Memory?
This is an old post (2001) & points out that Norton's 2000 is not compatible with ME. I am not suggesting that you turn off your AV but maybe some other unneccessary programs. Also see if running without the Google Toolbar makes any difference.the first stage of trying to resolve IPF is to disable the TSR programs you have running. These programs (which generally reside in your system tray) are often 'suspects' not meaning they will always cause IPF's they're simply suspects as they sit in the memory until they're needed. Your virus scanner is a TSR program.. it stays in the background till needed.. which from what I remember actives every 1 minute to check your email(?) the 'suspects' aren't just limited to virus scanners as the general rule of thumb applies to any and all TSR programs. By turning off TSR programs there is a chance of being able to dump some of the problems you're experiencing
