wireless broadband :-S
hi people, i dont know if this is in the right section, sorry if it isnt, anyway we have aol broadband silver and we were told we couldnt get a wireless broadband connection, and we needed to upgrade to broadband gold and we want to pay what were paying now (£17.99 a month) and have a wireless connection, we will pay for a network kit but we only want to pay £17.99 a month. does anyone know if any broadbands will allow this?
Thanks, Mike

Hi there I dont know any specifics with AOl but what ever speeds your on you can network it ... it might not be so brill if your on a lower speed but you can still do it.
All you need to do is get the wireless connection kit and hook it up 2 ur machines ... I think maybe its a case of them wanting to get more money from you than needs be.
You do need to make sure your Router- the main wireless box connects with your aol modem if you are connecting it that way. ie does it have a slot for an ethernet cable? or USB?

hi, im not sure but i don't think you can get a router that supports usb modems, i have looked on maplins site and all the routers i have looked at are not compatible with usb modems, if i got a router with a built in modem, would this make any difference to the cost of my aol service?
