hi, i've just bought my new pc and am having difficulty connecting to certain links. the cursor will show it as a hyperlink but when i click on it there's no response whatsoever.
also having problems logging into websites that i am a member of. i am inputting my user name and password correctly but again when i proceed there's no response. can anyone help?

In case you use Internet Explorer try the following:
Close all browser windows
Go to Start - Run and enter regsvr32 urlmon.dll and confirm with Enter or OK.
Should bring up a little messagebox saying "Registerserver ...in urlmon.dll succeeded"
Then reopen Internet Explorer and check those Links that didnt work.

not too sure what you mean by operating sytem but i'm on windows xp home edition and using aol 9.0.

Aight Windows XP would be the operating system, thats sorted.
Now do you use the integrated aol browser to surf the web, or another browser like Internet Explorer ?

i use an integrated aol browser that was already on the computer when i bought it.

Have you got the updates from windows? Did the pc come with a Service pack 2 disk? Have you got a firewall?
