pre-dialer window
ive recently been getting a pre-dialer window pop up when i click to start internet
it doesnt cause any problems but is annoying.
any thoughts on how to stop this window?

First thing i would do is run a spyware check and see whether it finds anything. Other then that u might also check what kind of programs autostart and might cause the dialer window to pop up. If u need assistance on how to check for programs that autostart drop me a line

thanks for your reply i am sure its not spyware i think i might have ticked a box when i was trying to mute my modem speaker but cant find the correct way to get rid of the window

Can you be a bit more specific.. What is said in this pop up window?
Have you got antivirus and a firewall?

when i click to open the connection to my isp the is a pre-dial terminal window that has the single word in it that says ok i then have to click the box continue to connect to the internet if i dont click continue then the modem doesnt dial out

If you are on Windows 2000, click the Start Menu, then Settings, then Control Panel, then Network And Dial-Up Connections. Right-click your ISP connection that you've created and select Properties from the context menu. When the Properties dialog opens, select the Security tab. If there is an option labelled 'Show terminal window', make sure that it is not selected.
If you have Windows XP, I believe that it is a similar process, except that you click the Start Menu and then Control Panel.
If you have Windows 98, I believe that it is a similar process, except that you click the Start Menu, then Programs, then Accessories, then Dial-Up Networking.
