Please help connection problems
Hello,
It could take me forever to scan all the questions and answers on this sight, I need some help as I am a new user, I am currenty using a old work laptop because i am having problems connecting with the laptop I bought on e-bay, I cannot seem to get on line, it just wont to connect? can anyone help me please?

What is your operating system? What service pack thereof?
What is your connection? Are you on a network? What is the error?

thats the problem, I really dont know as i am a pain in the *** new boy, bought this laptop to get on line and upto speed, kind off know my way about, just dont know what to do when I am there, do you know any real time help chatrooms I can go to?

Start the laptop & right click My Computer then click Properties.
Is it Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2? (for example)
How are you trying to connect? Phone line? DSL? Cable? Network?
When you try to go on-line what happens? Is there an Error stated?
...........this is the only real time help I know of 
you may find something via the manufacturer i.e. Dell or Vaio (for example)
