I use AOL for my internet Version 9.0, but how come even though I use AOL, I get internet explorer windows popping up themselves with adverts about this that and whatever, it is really annoying, is there away of stopping this. It just doens't make sense, i'm not even on Internet Explorer when this happens, I'm on AOL. Anybody no how I can stop this?

Shoot the Messenger will only stop the windows messaging service that displays those little popup windows u see when u do a net send [targetip] [message].

As he gets the actual Internet Explorer windows there is verly likely a program/app running in the background that calls the MSIE and shows those ads.

Apart from disabling the windows messenger generally being a good thing, i would also recommend a full system scan with a spyware removal tool such as AdAware with most recent definition files

I've just run an Ad Aware and Spyware remover tool now, clearing alot of stuff, and the other thing which was posted, i'm gonna run now, and i'll see if it helps.
