I have a Windows XP and when I log on to my user profile and go on to AOL everything is just fine. However, when my sister logs onto her user profile and tries to view a webpage through AOL, only an asterick (*) appears. I cannot figure this out. I switched to my AOL account name on her XP profile and I could not view anything besides the * as well. However if we were on my XP profile she could view pages in AOL. I believe it may have something to do with her settings maybe but I looked and could not figure it out. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Where does the * appear? In the address bar? Can you manually type a web site address?

Thanks for welcoming me to DAL. I've been around a few times before but first time to the new boards. Nice work! The * appears whenever you go to any web page. The page will pop up like its loading but it stops loading the page and it's all white with an * in the top left corner.

I thought maybe it was just the website at first but it happens for every website. ESPN, my website, AOL Help, etc. Any website you go to through AOL on her XP user profile will not load. The page comes up all white with an * in the top left corner. Thanks.

Is that using AOL's browser? Can you try using Internet Explorer and see if the same thing happens?

Yes, that's using AOL's browser. If we use Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox everything works fine.

Have your tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the AOL software?

No I didn't try that yet. I didn't think it was AOL seeing that it runs fine on my user profile on XP, just not on her profile. I'll check it out though.
