links go nowhere
My IE doesn't show anything in a window when I hit a link. Browser box opens but never shows anything inside. Same for address book in Yahoo. I just downloaded SP for IE6. Ideas?

There are alot of possible issues & details relating to this problem.
Can you navigate IE in any way? Is it just clicking hyperlinks that fails?
Can you open hyperlinks from Outlook Express?
Do you have any problem linking from Favorites? Or opening from the address bar?
Here is an overall page from MS:
You cannot open a new Internet Explorer window or nothing occurs after you click a link

Reason: Wrong link

It is just hyperlinks that show a new window, but nothing is ever in the window. I can open new windows all the time, just nowhere with a hyperlink, because nothing is ever in the window. Favorites works, as does history. Just empty hyperlink windows.

This problem is specific with this computer too. I can hit any hyperlink on another machine and the URL and anything related to it come right up. What kind of software or hardware could cause that?
-
Did you try the fixes from the MS link above?
-
The link listed above went nowhere. Can I have an address to write in to the bar?

This is the first fix listed:
To resolve this problem in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.
If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):
• Shdocvw.dll
• Msjava.dll
• Actxprxy.dll
• Oleaut32.dll
• Mshtml.dll
• Browseui.dll
• Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)
There are many more if that doesn't work.
Sorry I didn't think the link wouldn't link as that is the problem

with the other dll files, do you mean to replace regsvrurlmon.dll with one of them?

how do I print just this post of yours?
