    Error (650)

Hi everyone, I'll cut to the chase. (BEWARE! THIS AINT SHORT).

I was downloading a big program, and after about 3 hours when I checked, on the screen was the BT connect window asking if I wanted to connect to the internet. The thing is I never disconnected.

    i. Would this have anything to do with my setup?
    ii. Would it be BT?
iii. Would it be the server that I was downloading from?
iv. Why was I disconnected and how?

When I tried to reconnect I got this error message:

Error (650) The dial-up networking server is not responding.

I tried rebooting and reconnecting. No go.

I could only reconnect after switching off for an hour or so. Then after about another hour, I checked again, this time there was another message:

    WINDOWS

An exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C007E469 in VxD ---. This was called from 0028:C007E3A3 in VxD ---. It may be possible to continue normally.

    * Press any key to attempt to continue.
    * Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart your computer. You will lose any unsaved information in all applications.

    Press any key to continue.

When I pressed ENTER, the screen went blank,(black).
    ThenI pressed ESC, nothing hapend.
I then pressed the SPACE BAR, and the PC turned off.

    I am running WIN 98se, Pentium II, 400MHz, 193 RAM, IE 6.
I hope this is enough info for you to help.
    Yours hopefully, Gary.

    Thanks for the reply chou,

What I don't understand is, I was already dialed in.

I have searched the net, to no avail. Everything that I came across explained why I couldn't get in, not why I was cut off.

Thanks for your help. Hope you have a good 05.

    Gary.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
In your post, it says, "For detailed instructions to recreate your connection, click here".

There is nowhere to click, (no link), that I could see.

The only time that I get this problem is when I am downloading a big file. I can allways get back in after about an hour or so. Everything is fine normally.
