This problem is strange - PC switched off Sunday evening working OK, and switched on again Monday morning to find I can't connect o websites or greceive or send messages via Outlook Express.

I am linked to broadband, and the connection is working because Kazaa is still downloading OK, but can't connect to any websites via IE6 nor Mozella Firefox.
Also when I run Outlook Express I get the message that it can't see the SMTP or POP3 servers.

Also run latest AVG for virus check, and it is clean.

Any ideas.

Thanks for your help.

I've run ad-aware - nothing much found. Then ran spybot eight times, and gradually reduced to one problem.
The one which refused to die was n-Case.

I also ran winsockfix

Then I installed SP2 - desperation set in!

Something along the line must have re-set the internet access setting, and internet access is back.

Issues still remaining - n-Case will not go away, and when I invoke IE6 the home page is not displayed - I get www.lop.com
I'm sure lop was on the spybot list.

So not clean yet, but getting there.
