    Recording from phono player

I am interested in recording my old phonograph records onto my computer. I know I can buy a phono-to-PC preamp, but I have a full stereo system with a quality preamp with a quality phono preamp in it.

Would like to know before i spend ther money on the connector ... can I just buy a RCA-jacks to stereo-mini-jack connector and connect the preamp's Line Out to the computer's Line In port?

    Thanks!

You can certainly get one of these leads to play music out of the PC into a stereo (I've done this before). I've never tried it the other way round (playing from a stereo into the PC) but I don't see why it shouldn't work.

The lead should cost you under £20.
