    Motherboard going bad?

    1st My specs

    Asus P5Q pro

    intel core 2 quad Q9400

    4 g Gskil ddr2 ram

    msi nvidia geforce 560ti.

first thing, one of my had drives, and one of my dvd drives, keep disappearing. If i unplug it and plug it back in(SATA cables) then it shows up again and works. but after a while it disappears again.

And with my graphics card I would get artifacts in game(temp is fine). Re seating the graphics card would fix it for a while. then it would start doing it again, until i re-seat it again. It hasn't done that in a while but im sure it will happen again.

Are these signs of my motherboard going bad? or what could it be.

    Thanks

Are the HD and DVD external drives?

When I encounter several strange hardware issues, I always suspect power. So if me I would swap in a spare power supply and see what happens. Artifacts could be due to power or heat or a failing graphics card. Make sure the interior is clean of heat trapping dust and all the power connections are tight. I might even replace the motherboard battery, since they are inexpensive. Make sure you unplug from the wall and touch bare metal of the case to discharge any static in body before reaching in. Do not touch the new battery with your bare fingers as skin oils promote corrosion and attract dust. I put a clean sock over my hand.

It also looks like a power failure to me.
However you may also try cleaning the contacts of your devices and update the drivers.
