Upgrade to windows 7 no audio, MT6460

I have a mt6460, i upgraded to 7 and had problems with all drivers, i got everything working except for the audio, searching for hours. ive tried all kinds of drivers from xp to vista to 7. ive tried the sm56 modem for audio, sigmatel drivers and nothing the furthest ive gotten is my speaker icon shows audio as it plays im media player (sound bar moving up and down) but no audio. ive looked for chipset drivers but cant find anything, if thats even what i need. any ideas please help thank you i do have everest and ther is also nothing under chipset

Hi SkiTTleD and Welcome. Did you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before trying to upgrade?

Also, try the Download Hardware Vendor Detection Utility which may help (since no audio drivers appear to be listed/identified):

    http://global-download.gateway.com/F...rDetection.exe
Gateway Support - Downloads & Support Documents

NOTE: Only VISTA OS seems to be selectable for your model

yes i ran the upgrade advisor but did not show any problems, and i have also downloaded and used the hardware detection utility, only thing it lists is LAN...Marvel, and VGA...ATI/AMD, thats all that comes up.

i can run a everest report if needed

Relevant chipset drivers (SOUND) appear to be available here for a price (and SEEMINGLY NOT AVAILABLE from vendor source directly):

ok well i did a test, i looked into everest and clicked on the mic input, my front mic input works. when i plug it in the computer notices it, and also when i unplug it. i made a sound recording and sent it to my phone through e-mail and well it works. but still no audio or headphones.. nothing.. all it says in device manager under sound, video and game controllers is High Definition Audio Device

    everest audio.jpgDriver provider: Microsoft
    date: 7-13-09
    version: 6.1.7600.16385
