im hoping someone can help..
I have a compaq presario v6000 running windows vista and with a bt home hub router (no probs with the router)

i had been having trouble with connecting to net via a wireless connection and had to then use the cable but then that stopped working too....

ive updated drivers etc, system restore yadda yadda...done all the checks i can think of....it was telling me everything was working ok...but now it just keeps telling me i have no network adapter (broadcom?) installed/configured on my computer!
(im on my sons laptop at the mo in case your wondering lol)

How can an adapter just vanish? I really dont understand whats happened?
The blue light on front of laptop which indicates wifi is on has been red/amber since it began playing up-despite it being "on"...does this mean theres an internal problem?

Plzzz can anyone help before i go mad lol
Also if it cant be fixed can i buy a usb adapter to enable me to connect to my hub?
