where to begin as i dont no much about computers i am running windows xp i have a intel pentium 4 ga 8vm800m motherboard via p4m800 chipset i hope that helps i turn computer on and it goes though the post and than black screen wont load any futher it does load bois and it does knowledge that i have a harddrive and dvd cd rom and the time and date still works i set the bios to boot from cd first so i no its not that, i tried to load it in safe mode nothing and also i put the recovery cd in and nothing tried loading windows and also tried a boot disk nothing just get a black screen i dont no if its hardware related or software,, but it sounds like hardware i dont get any beeps but i didnt get any beeps when it was going,, i did notice that i had lines on my monitor a couple of weeks ago just wondering if onboard graphic card or ram i havent got another computer so i cant test anythink,, thanks paul56t7

What happens when you try safe mode? What happened when you put in the xp disk? Back when it was working properly did you get any beeps upon boot up? Have you added any new hardware recently?

nothing in safe mode just goes though the post and when i put recovery cd in it does come up but that it u have options 1.execute backup utillty2. execute restore utllity 3. remove backup image 4.set pass word.5 exit and restart . when i use the arrows on my key board to go up and down nothing happens just stays on that screen no i havent put any new hardware in thanks paul56t7

Can you actually pull up the option to boot into safe mode or does it even get that far? When you select safe mode what happens? Also did it beep when it was operating normally? Have you made sure that everything is properly connected?
