I have 2 issues..
1 my laptop was turned on yesterday and I had a Msg: Smart Failure Predicted on hard disk 4 Immediately back up you data& replace your hard disk drive. A Failure May Be Imminent.

sooo after a brief panic attack I had to get my External hard drive back from my sister to back my laptop up.

No here lies my OTHER problem....

I plugged it into my friends computer just to check to see if it was working ok as my sister had it for ages... it showed up that new hard ware was detected... said that it detected the Maxtor Hard drive , then said it was installed but i can't access it on My Computer...
It is not showing anywhere.

So all my items from my previous laptop are on here... and i want to be able to access all that.. I also want it to work so i can back up my laptop that has this hard drive issue before i lose everything...

Can you help me PLEASE... i am at my Wits end here now with all this.

Its all bad enough i have to go buy a new laptop but i don't want to spend even more money buying a new hard drive too...
