Truned Gateway laptop on the other day, no internet. Poof gone.. Tried doing a system restore to 5 or 6 different dates would not work.. Decided to bite the bullet and do a complete restore.. Will not load most of the items on startup disc. No internet no windows etc. Have tried several times to no avail. Tried an Ethernet cable to try to go on line. No good. The cable is good as I tried it on this laptop. New start up disc or something else gone awry? Windows XP and the lap top about 3 to 4 yrs old..

I have moved your thread because this seems more than just Internet issues.

How did you do a complete restore? Did you use Gateway's recovery to take it back to factory specs?
