my computer was puttin itself to sleep and it was unable to be woke up. it would just stop putting out video or sound and i had to shut it off manually and restart it. the problem got more frequent so i rebooted the computer and started from scratch and it came right back. i took it to the geek squad and they said it was a bad mother board and so i promptly replaced it. now when i try to play me games one the computer, wow and sims 3, it freezes up as soon as i get into the game.

Although it's possible that you needed to I'm not sure that you had to replace the motherboard. However what's done is done. After you installed another MB did you actually reinstall windows or just leave it as it was? You really need to reinstall windows after replace the MB unless you used exactly the same make/model or you will likely have driver and registry conflicts. If you did reinstall windows, did you use a branded disk such as one from dell? If so unless you bought a mb from the same manufacturer you will need to get a retail version of windows. Otherwise you will be putting drivers on it for the wrong computer. Keep in mind that if you had, for example, a dell computer and you didn't put in a dell motherboard than it that case you would no longer have a dell computer. Does that make sense?
