Wallpaper seems to leave artifacts on my monitor!!

    Hi,
I noticed recently that whatever wallpaper i use, it kinda leaves marks on the monitor. For example when i use my browser i can see the shadow of whatever the picture is on my wallpaper!! how can i fix that??

I'm using Win XP Pro (SP3) and i have an LCD monitor (BenQ FP241W Z).

I hope my explanation makes sense

It sounds to me like there is something wrong with the monitor & I'm not sure how to tell you to fix it. I'm not even sure if they are user serviceable. If it is under warranty I'd contact the manufacturer. Have you tried another monitor?

The first thing to do is try another monitor and/or try that monitor on another computer. If the problem follows the monitor, you know it is the monitor. If the problem stays with the computer, you know it is with the graphics solution in the computer.

Ummm, we have no way of knowing - you have not told us what happens when you try another monitor, or try that monitor on another computer.

Well, without being able to isolate the problem to the computer or to the monitor by swapping in a different monitor, then I am afraid we are at a stand still.

Oh? Do you leave you monitor on with the same image displayed for hour and hours at a time? This would be like a monitor used at a store where the store name or a form is displayed all day long and the monitor never goes to sleep.
