I have a toshiba laptop and whenever i start up my computer it comes up with the toshiba logo as usual but then goes to a black screen where i cant do anything apart from press the majority of buttons and that makes a beeping sound . i can go to the boost up menu but i cant do anything else from the black screen(i am on a friends laptop at this time)

NOTE: it started when i had notice windows saying that windows explorer had stopted and windows explorer was restarting , they both kept on coming up alturnativly and slowed donw my laptop so i restarted my laptop and this keeps happening

i have tired only using the mains and not the battery , it didnt work , im starting to think the best thing to do now is to wipe the compuer and im not if i have to but get windows 7 installed AGAIN!!! if you could tell me whats goign on with my laptop and if theres a way to solve it or do i have to wipe it ECT.
