Added More Memory And A Radeon 9600 to My PC and now I have NO Sound.
Heres My comps specs:
ASUS Motherboard
AMD Athalon Process 1.99 ghz
512 mB RAM
ATI Radeon 9600
nVidia MCP Audio Proc. Unit
OS : Windows XP Pro
Before the install I was running off an graphics card that is built into the Motherboard. Now it seems I have no sound for some odd reason. I checked device manager to verify that all my necessary devices are installed and they are and they are all said to be working properly. Also I made sure that the Volume control is not on mute or anything silly. I updated the driver through Windows Device Manager for the sound card and still had no luck. What do I need to do to hear again?

Go into BIOS and make sure that the BIOS is set so that the 'graphics' module is running from the AGP slot, your PC may still be trying to use the onboard graphics, this is a partial guess, from other similiar probs that i have heard.

If that's not the answer, then it could be something else in the BIOS. There's normally a setting labelled 'Assign IRQ to VGA' or something similar. This basically means that Windows will give an Interrupt Request (one if its limited number of resource settings) to the graphics card. It may be that that was the last free IRQ and the sound card needed it (although Device Manager alleged that everything was OK).
If the BIOS setting says 'Yes', try it on 'No' and see what happens. If it doesn't work, you can always reboot and change it back.
