Hello,

I'm newly registered and don't really know if I'm asking the right question in the right place but I really need some help as Dell Support don't appear to be able to answer my question properly. I have an Inspiron 530 Desktop, about 3 years old, that came with a Dell wireless mouse and keyboard. Both run off the same USB bluetooth receiver plugged into the back of my machine and up until now everything's worked fine. However, just recently the mouse hasn't been working properly, it doesn't often register I'm clicking and then when it does it seems to think I'm double clicking all the time, which is making it increasingly difficult to use the computer, especially on AutoCad and Photoshop which obviously involves a lot of pan, zoom etc. I replaced the batteries twice but to no avail so it's obviously not that and I'm loathed to try and get into the thing to see if there's something wrong as I know nothing about the newer laser mice.
Anyway, I temporarily tried to replace it with my laptop mouse, a fairly new wireless Microsoft one, but when I plugged in its own receiver it doesn't seem to work right at all. Both the keyboard and the mouse experience a lot of lag and the only reason I could think of was that the two bluetooth signals were interfering with one another. I've since tried a new Logitech mouse but the same problem occurred. I suppose basically my question is does anyone know if this is the reason the new mice aren't working and if so, is there any way to resolve it?? I've contacted Dell and all they've told me is a bunch of stuff I already know about new mice coming with their own dongle and that it's unlikely a new one would run off the original receiver for the keyboard and mouse. But I really want to avoid having to buy both a new keyboard and mouse together as it's so expensive and the keyboard is fine anyway, but I don't really want to buy a wired mouse either. So, does anybody have any advice or suggestions???
Hope you can help. Many thanks
