    harddrive failure

my 2tb samsung f3 drive has suddenly stopped working……..

    (its formatted in ext3)

was transfering some index/jukebox files over, and halfway throuhg my harddrive made a beep, the transfer cancelled, and suddenly the HD disapeared from my computer and was no longer recognised. i tried turning it off and on again but to no luck.

it doesnt show in disk management, no does it show in disk utility in mac. it shows in pch but when i select it it crashes the unit….

it happens to have all my 1.5tbish of data on it so any solutions would be VERY VERY appreciated!!!

(oh and pc is running xp) and iv tried two different pcs….

I'm confused how you accessed it to start with. I didn't think that XP could use EXT3 formatted drives without additional programs. How do you normally access it in XP?
You don't have any linux's running do you?
