How can I tell if a CD or DVD is fake?

Depends on the CD or DVD. The fake Windows disks I have seen were pretty obvious by the label. No halograms. The label ink smeared and was stuck on.

Original CDs and DVDs are "pressed" in a mold while copies tend to be "burned".
