i3 core vs i7 core
Hi, I'm looking to replace my old faithful Toshiba Equium laptop with something new. I want decent dedicated graphics and a decent processor for doing multi-tasking and playing around with images in PS and Core.
I've narrowed it down to two contenders at the moment:
#1 Samsung R780 - SAMSUNG NP-R780-JS02UK at low prices | Dixons
and
#2 HP Pavilion DV7-3110ea - HP Pavilion DV7-3110ea at low prices | Dixons
This laptop is essentially my main computer, so I want it to be able to do more than one thing at once but I also want it to be able to play games at above 2fps (yes, 2fps) that my Toshiba can go down to. My main question is which is the best value and is the i7 processor worth the extra £s?
Any help and advice would be great!
Thanks

Better value? That is not easily answered. I guess the i3, simply because it is less expensive. But if given a choice, I'd take the i7 over the i3 any day. I personally don't think it fair comparison however because gaming depends as much, if not more, on the graphics solution rather than the CPU. From what I can find the 230 and the 330 are very similar, if not identical, just re-badged. At any event, gaming and notebooks really don't mix. The confined space inside a notebook case can never accommodate sufficient cooling for worry free gaming. Notebooks also don't facilitate adequate cleaning of the internals of heat trapping dust.

Ok, thanks for the input. I wasnt sure what was best, but from what you say I'll go with the HP and the i7 processor as opposed to the Samsung i3. I'd get a desktop, but its simply more practical for me to have a laptop at the moment since im moving around a lot.
Thanks for the input, it really helps
