New Laptop Slow also wrong Spec Advertised

    Hello,
I recently purchased what I thought was a good Laptop from Tesco Direct - TOSHIBA L550-1CC Laptop (Intel Pentium® Dual-Core T4400, 4GB, 500GB, 17.3" Screen, Windows 7 Home Premium). This was suppose to come with HDMI Port. When It arrived this was not the case. They stated they website details were incorrect.(refunded £20 for an adaptor) I have had it for about a week and i do like it apart from when surfing.. some web pages are incredibly slow opening, facebook ,Zyenga poker sometimes ebay and this one also..

I have two desktop comps all networked with the laptop and they run the sites well it is only the laptop that seems slow on them. I have run all the usual checks and everything seems okay speed test on the laptop was 3mb so I'm happy with that. I can't understand why the web pages open so slow. I Don't think it is my connection as I have tried all three comps at the same time and its only the laptop that is slow. This is my first laptop so unsure if this is a regular problem with laptops. Anybody else have this model or are able to help in any way would be very much appreciated.

I have noticed on the above websites that the CPU usage goes to about 50% when opening the websites if this helps......

    Thanks
    Robert.

possibly try changing web browser to something like google chrome or firefox

these are usualy faster that internet explorer and atract less web junk.

if you want to stay with Internet explorer

possibly a problem with internet explore addons
tools menu- manage addons and try disabling everything then trying to see if there is speed improvement.

failing that virus check (avg free) and spyware scan (ad-aware) both are free if you dont have either or both

I have changed my location of my router and made a few adjustments in the settings. It seems to have helped a little but I might try a different Browser and see if it helps.

    Thanks again.
