I still want to install the ATI Rage 32mb PCI Graphics Card I bought.

I tested my Presario 5000 at New Egg and I can upgrade to 512mb RAM. They want $65 for the upgrade. I need 2-256mb sticks. How can I determine which sticks my computer will support and where can I find them CHEAP? I now have xp on the machine and still want to upgrade the graphics. It has an internal 8mb graphics chip and I want to upgrade to 32-64 mb. I DO have a pci slot and have a 32mb ATI Rage Gamebuster pci card but I can't seem to get the computer to recognize it. I put it in the pci slot...connect the monitor and when I start up...the monitor is blank. Is it compatible or can you suggest an alternative PCI card and help me with the installation?

OK...I have a compaq motherboard and I entered BIOS. Under "PCI DEVICES" I HAVE:

Under "Bus options" I have:

How do I change the BIOS to enable my PCI Graphics card and disable the onboard graphics adapter? If my new PCI card is bad....how will I get back in to restore the onboard adapter? It's getting scary...lol

Can you not help me? I am still having the same problem.....dark screen when I insert the pci card. Thank you.
