From AGP Chip TO PCI Graphics Card...NO GO!
I have removed my WinMe computer from the Internet. I want to use it as a game computer only. It is a Compaq Presario 5000 w/256mb RAM. It has an AGP intel i752 Graphics adapter. I inserted a PCI card (ATI-Rage 128VR 32M SDR PCI) into one of the PCI slots and upon restating my computer the monitor was dark. I have since installed the software drivers and reinstalled the PCI card with the same results. The directions that came with the PCI card says that I "may" have to uninstall old graphics card or if it has a graphics chip on the motherboard to refer to the systems manual on how to disable it. I cannot find a manual online so here I am. Most of my games require 16 or 32 mb graphics cards. The intel chip is 8mb. Can you help me.

Hi AliveAndKickin
I'm not sure because I cannot find the spec for Compaq Presario 5000 w
I think the AGP intel i752 Graphics adapter is an on-board graphics card if so it needs disabling in the bios
Take a look here to check to see if this is the case.
Installing or Replacing a Video Card Compaq Presario 5000 Desktop PC - HP technical support (United Kingdom - English)
Go down to section 6 were it explains how to disable on-board graphics.
