Memory checks out..no problem.
Question: I believe virtual memory is using the hard drive for memory purposes. I have the option of setting the size of the allocation on the hard drive for virtual memory or the setting will be determining by the software.
I do no think this has anything to do with my problem but it never hurts to ask.
It is like the software is okay with 640MB but not 768MB.
The reason I say software is that the setup screen shows that the computer is recognizing 786,432K of memory. All of the memory added is showing up in extended memory in the setup screen.
The memory is okay..no problem.
According to this website, Windows 98SE should be okay with 768MB. The manual states that the motherboard can handle 768MB. The setup screen shows the computer with 786,432K.
How Much Memory Can My Computer Use?
I don't know. ??? Some times RAM tests good, but still does not play well together.
Is that using on-board graphics? The setup screen shows the computer with 786,432K.
I have tried adding two different modules of 256MB memory. The results are the same.
