    Audio Issues

For some reason I am unable to fathom my system is showing that I do not have an audio device installed. The hardware is onboard and the drivers say they're working properly. Also, I have just finished a full system restore to attempt to fix this issue with no luck.

Hi, Can you supply the actual make and model number of your system as you haven't listed it. This should be on the bottom on a sticker.

    Thanks in advance,
    Geoff.

i just have a side comment. i reinstalled a touchsmart hp desktop. i got the same issue after installation. know how i fixed it? i tried deleting the driver and reinstalling it then updating it. i got no updated drivers on the search. the hp website had an update so i installed it and it didn't do anything. the hp site also had the original driver so i installed that, then installed the update to the driver. the update for the driver could not complete successfully, it just kept giving me an error message and no sound.
this is how i fixed it, i restarted the computer after all that hell, and it worked for no apparent reason. i'm not mocking your issue, by any means.
some things are just beyond me.
