Adding printer to wireless network

Adding printer to wireless network
I have setup a wireless network for my two computers (W7 and XP)
I have an Epson Stylus Office BX610FW all in one printer which I would like to add to the network but haven't a clue how to do that - help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

make sure you enable sharing in windows 7 and xp. for windows 7 do this by going to network discovery and opting to enable sharing. in windows xp i believe the setting is in network. secondly, you'd think you would at least be able to see an unknown printer on your network after doing this, but that is not the case. you'll need to install the driver onto each pc on the network. after that, open notepad, write up a test document for printing, hit print and select the appropriate printer.
this is how i did it on my family's home network.

Many thanks for the reply.
I have checked the share printers option and tried to print using Notepad but I just get a Printer not found message.

ok. in order to print from the pc which did not originally have the printer installed on it, you need to install the printer driver onto that pc first. so i'm assuming you're printing from the second pc which has not had the driver installed on it yet. in Windows 7 make sure that network discovery is on, make sure that file and printer sharing is checked as well, not just on XP.

Sharing Files - How To Share Files in Windows XP
so the steps are:
Win XP
turn on file and printer sharing in network (check)
turn on network discovery and file and printer sharing in Windows 7
make sure the printer driver is installed on both pc's
once the driver has been installed on both pc's, you should be able to see the printer when you choose to print a document or image. at the bottom of the print screen there should be a small dropdown menu to choose which printer to print the document or image to. it may also be icons that denote different printers.

I have updated the drivers from the Epson website and have all the sharing boxes checked but the main problem is that I am unable to get a wireless connection for the printer at all.
It works OK wired and the router connects to the net OK but the printer refuses to connect.

i had to ask someone else about your issue and sorry it took so long to get back to you.
You need to do one of two things,
the assumption is you haven't reinstalled the printer since it was initially put on a wired computer.
your printer should have come with software for installation to help you setup a wireless printer since it supports ethernet and wi fi printing.
you should refer to the manual, which you can find online if you don't have your original. the manual is going to assume a fresh install, but it may happen taht you can go into printers under control panel in XP and/or 7 and opt to create a new printer on the pc which the printer wasn't originally installed on.
this would initiate some search, install drivers, or what have you.
the software cd for the printer would most likely have a wizard to install the hardware automatically and give you the option to setup for a wired print station or wireless environment.
i'm sorry i can't give you the direct-to-answer.
i'm surprised i'm the only person who has answered this post in fact, in either case, I hope it helps and you should definately have the information you need now to setup a wireless printer.
To recap:
try adding a new printer to the computer which your Epson was not originally installed on. This may help your computer find the printer especially since the driver is installed on the PC now.
if that doesn't work, and you have the manual and cd software (both of which you should be able to find online) check your manual for instructions and use the cd software, it should have a wizard for setting up a wireless or wired printer. If you wind up having to reinstall the drivers, keep in mind that it is a good idea to uninstall the drivers first.
Good luck!
