    printer Problem

Hi Guys: I have a printer spooler problem, when I try to print a docoument from a website it goes into the ques and just sits there I then have to go to control panel, admin options, and services and highlight print spooler and to the left click restart then and only then does the printer print my doucuments. Can anyone please tell me what is going on and what I can do to fix this problem?

scroll to command prompt under start menu --> accessories and in the black box that opens type in sfc /scannow. Note that if you have Vista or 7 you must right click on command prompt and select run as administrator. What is your OS? Computer as well as printer make/model?

Would you read the link in my signature please and post back with relevant information asked.

Assuming you are running Windows XP please go to
    1. Start
    2. Run
    3. Type 'services.msc' without the quote
    4. Click OK
    5. using your mouse, lower right hand corner, drag to enlarge the utility
    6. Click on 'startup type'
    7. Find 'print spooler' highlight > right click under startup type > properties, make sure it is set on Automatic and started in left pane
    8. Exit you way out via "File" at the top
You can reboot and try you printer again.

To run SFCScannow which is prudent to do periodically to make sure you have not missing or corrupted .dll files, go here - ideally, you will need your OS CD inserted in your DVD Drive as stated in the link given.

Post back for more information if need be.

    kind regards,

I never stated that doing so is all but it is something to test. We need to make sure your system files are intact because print spooler is a windows process. Don't forget the space before the forward slash. It won't work without it. You won't necessarily need your disk but only if problems can't be fixed without it. I think it tries to use backups first but I might be wrong. We do need to know more about your system and your printer so please answer our questions. You are tying our hands if you don't.
