    Question ram comparison

    what do you think about this comparison of ram, Patriot Memory 1 GB PC2-4200 533 MHz DDR2, V.S Silicon Power 1 GB PC2-6400 200 PIN DDR2 800

    They are two different types (PC2-4300 and PC2-6400) therefore, there is no comparison. But for the record, I have used Patriot RAM with no problems. And I have never heard of Silicon Power.

    thanks Digerati the ram sticks also each have a different amount of small black chip like things on top of the circuit board. the silicon power one has 4 or 5 of these on it while the patriot has 8, could it be good to mix the two of them? i already have 2 patriots if its not good to mix the two types of ram

    It typically does no harm to mix RAM but mixing RAM often results in failure to boot. You need to check your motherboard manual, or maker's website to see what RAM your board supports.
