tv losing pc signal when connected

Hey, i bought a new hd tv so decided to connect my pc up to it.

Im using the svideo out socket in a nvidia geforce 5200 card going into a scart rgb socket in the back of my tv.

Hooked it all up last night and nothing. Turned everything off then on again and it worked, could use my tv as a pc moniter everything was fine.

Turned everything on today and the signal had dissapeared again. Rebooted my pc and found out that the tv would show the pc booting up until it got to the windows log on on screen at which point it would dissapear and say it was recieving no signal.

Anyone know why it shows a picture than when it comes to a certain point it stops recieving a signal?

    Im running windows xp sp2.

    Cheers.

Do you have a standard monitor installed as well?

If so try unplugging it as a test.

Yeah ive got a moniter i use as my main display but tried unplugging that but still get the same problem.

In my nvidia settings ive got it set to clone so i get the same display on my moniter and tv. Like i say it worked fine once now it wont, now it works till the windows log in sreen then loses signal.

Wondered if it was soemthing to do with the resolution?

Usually a resolution issue would result in an "Out of Range" error.

"No Signal" usually means that the computer and the monitor have no connectivity.

I find this interesting: "Hooked it all up last night and nothing. Turned everything off then on again and it worked, could use my tv as a pc moniter everything was fine."

I've had some experience with wide screen monitors that act just in reverse. Meaning that the BIOS is blank but they will function once Windows loads. As far as I could trace the error was in the monitor but it usually was resolved by multiple boots.

What is the make and model of the TV? Any manual? Perhaps drivers?
