Windows 7, Realtek Onboard Audio and 5.1 Speakers
Hey everyone,
I just upgraded to Windows 7 from XP. Everything is running fine EXCEPT for my 5.1 Logitech speakers. I have on-board Realtek HD sound which was able to give me beautiful 5.1 surround sound on XP, but can do little more than 2.1 with weak sub on Windows 7. I've spent half a day googleing the problem and nobody has any solutions, thus I turn to D-A-L for help. I've got the latest audio driver for my mobo and both windows and the Realtek sound manager are configured for 5.1 sound. Interestingly enough, the Windows drivers didn't even detect that my speakers were plugged in; I needed the Realtek manager to do that.
I've tried numerous things to get my 5.1 experience and none have worked. When I test my speakers they all give sound as they should through both the Windows and Realtek tests, but youtube videos, iTunes and games just give me a weak 2.1.
Help?

What has worked for some is to select 7.1 surround sound, then disable those not needed.
