    Out of range message

I suddenly got a message on my screen that says "out of range" at which time the computer shut down and now continuously reboots.
I have made no setting changes for weeks and the system has been running fine.
Because this message has Asus on it I assume that it is coming from my monitor.
My system is an AMD 6000 dual core running on a Gigabyte motherboard with 4g of ddr2 ram and running twin SLI Gigabyte 7200gs video cards.
    Operating system is Vista ultimate.
Monitor is an Asus 22 inch LCD about two years old.
Any ideas on how I can fix this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Have you tried running in safe mode. Once you computer starts hit F5 repeatedly until you get the advanced start up menu. While you are at it first scroll to disable automatic restart and hit enter. Now select safe mode and hit enter. If the boot stops we need to know the last listed file. If you get a blue screen we need to know what the error code is. A problem with your monitor shouldn't cause a reboot.

    Thanks for your help.
I have cured the problem though I am not really sure how.
I tried your suggestion without any joy so I took the side off the box and gave it a good clean, fans etc, checked all the connections and tried again and still no joy.
I then swapped the hard drive sata cables about and rechecked all connections and lo and behold the damm thing worked and is still going.
I am still no wiser as to the cause but I think it may be hiding ready to jump out again.
I built this thing a couple of years ago and have had zero problems with it but am thinking an upgrade might be on the cards.
    Again thanks for the help.

Well you might have had a connection loose. What happened when you disabled automatic restart and booted into safe mode?
