When you mention Primary and Secondary channels you are implying an ATA setup and not a SATA setup.
SATA runs on single channels and there are no primary nor secondary: just #1;2;3;4; etc.
Is the drive SATA II and if so is your motherboard SATA II?

guys my mother board is not sata II i am using an PCI sata converter on my ATA compatible motherboard and my hdd wd5000aads 500gb do know this is sata II or not but only this hard disk is creating problem i also have an other harddisk of seagate which is 160 gb and this one is working perfectly .

It most likely is SATA II if it is new. There should be a jumper on the rear to revert it to SATA I.
You can try that.

I would suggest contacting Western Digital:
WD - Service & Support Home
Let us know how that goes.
