    Laptop will not boot...HELP!

I have an HP Pavilion DV6436.

The issue I am having is when I go to turn it on lately it will light up the buttons and start spinning the fan as if to start booting. The whole time the screen is blank. Then it turns back off and starts the process again. This would normally go on for no less then 5 times. When it would finally boot it runs flawlessly (once I see the HP Splash screen I know I am good) .

I assume this is a hardware issue since it never even gives the option to load the Bios.

Well I just went to use the laptop today I believe I am completely dead in the water. It will not come up at all, it just keeps rebooting never getting past the blank start up screen.

Hard Drive? Mother Board? CPU? Fan?

    Any advice would be great!

This is always a last resort scenario. Besides that when it does start to load windows it loads just fine. The fact that quite frequently he doesn't even get the BIOS screen indicates a hardware issue since the OS hasn't even started to load.

Thanx for the replies guys. I lucked out, I suspected the motherboard since I ruled out all other hardware. And I got a reply from another forum. Apparentyly HP has known of this (and other Motherboard related) issue. They had a extended 2 year warranty that I just made it.

    They are fixing for free.

BTW, Backup/re-install would never work. The laptop never get to a point where it can boot to anything.

What you are having is a GPU problem and that is certain if your laptop is Hp Pavilion. check the hp website for solution
