    Smile bios password

i had a bios password and tried to take it off in the bios by hitting enter and leaving the the new passwords blank. now when i boot up it ask for a password. i try old password and leave it blank and hit enter, neither work. phoenix bios on a toshiba satellite laptop e355s. the laptop is about a year old. toshiba said to take it somewhere and have someone fix it. i really do not want to take the laptop apart to reset the bios. i tried removing all power and can not get to the back up battery. any ideas mail me at columbuswright3 at yahoo thanks.

As hinted at the only possibly fix is a jumper on the motherboard.

Best to take it to a shop but if you want to open it yourself we might be able to find manuals.

    Try these passwords:-
    BIOS, CMOS, phoenix, and PHOENIX

If any of the above work, don't forget to save the changes you have made by pressing F10 and then the Enter key for [Yes]

If the above do not work, then I suggest you re-enter into the BIOS and delete the password and don't forget to save the changes you have made by pressing F10 and then the Enter key for [Yes]

    Cheers
