    Question Wireless Quit Working

I have a HP Pavilion dv6253cl laptop computer. The wireless quit working. I get the error message " This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured." I can still connect to the internet using a wired connection. Is the wireless network card replaceable or is it built into the motherboard and would require replacing the motherboard? Can you buy an external wireless network card ?

    Thanks for any advice.

I have decided that the wireless card may be bad and have ordered a new card. If there is anyone reading this that has experience installing a wireless card in a HPdv6253cl, I will appreciate any advice that you wish to share.

    Thanks

The new wireless card did not solve the problem.

I have updated the BIOS and drivers for the wireless network card.

On the front of the laptop there is a switch for the wireless connection with a small LED light. The light should shine blue when the wireless network has been turned on and shine amber when the wireless network is off. The light on my laptop stays amber irregardless of which way the switch is engaged.

In the control panel there is an icon labeled "HP Wireless Assistant". When I click on the icon nothing happens.

When I go to the device manager and expand the Network Adapters it shows NVIDA nForce 10/100 MPBS Ethernet, which shows "This device is working properly"

Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated.
