Switching From IDE To SATA Hard Drive

Hi there, I was thinking of buying a new sata hard drive as my old IDE one is only 80 GB but I have a couple of questions about this:

Can I put in the new hard drive next to the old one (I have a spare bay and my motherboard has SATA) and can I copy everything including XP with Service Pack 3 to the new drive? I don't Have an XP disc as it came pre-installed?

    Any help is much apprieciated
    Thanks

    Hi.

    Should be no problem.

Most hard drive manufacturers provide cloning software.

If you want a recommendation as to both hardware and software I'd recommend Seagate/Maxtor hard drives that use the MaxBlast 5 utility which has excellent cloning capabilities.
