Hi, I have a 1 ghz Gateway Performance 1000 that was bought in 2001. It was working fine today until I tried to hook up the hard drive, because I was going to install XP. Now, when the computer hooked up to the monitor the computer turns on with an orange light (used to turn green) and the monitor doesn't show anything from the computer, it just stays black. And I also noticed from the inside the power supply doesn't spin. Is there any way I can fix this? I have another powersupply too.

If you are saying the PSU fan is not working then try your other PSU.

Also verify that all the connections are solid.

Unplug and re-plug all your cables. Re-seat your RAM & Graphics card.
