    Advice on new hard drive

    Hello,

After having boot problems with my PC and all lines of enquirey suggesting the hard drive is corrupt or damaged, i have decided to purchase a new one.

I would like to know if this hard drive is suitable for my mobo and PSU (and if theres anytihng else i need to check), specificly regarding 'jumpers'.

    Mobo: P5SD2-FM
    PSU: OCZ 600w gameXstream

    Any help appreciated.

The hard disk (SATA-II) is suitable. That motherboard has four SATA connectors for (up to) four SATA devices. The primary difference between SATA and SATA-II is speed. So even if the motherboard doesn't support SATA-II speeds, if you ever get a new motherboard, you'll have a fast hard disk to run on it.

SATA devices don't generally use "jumpers", as each device has its own connector.
